cheers to 22!

How have I only been alive for such a short amount of time yet lived such an eventful, adventurous and #blessed life? I am continuously thankful for each and every event, big or small, that has happened in the past 22 years. I have learned so many things on this journey we call life and I cannot wait to learn more. There is no better time than a milestone day to reflect on 22 things I’ve learned along the way.

  1. People who want to be in your life will be there

  2. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have

  3. Get out of your own head, you are amazing

  4. Stop comparing yourself to people who are not in your league

  5. Stop telling yourself you belong in a certain league, and start telling yourself that anything is possible

  6. Own your style

  7. Prove the naysayers wrong

  8. Dig deep

  9. Don’t wait around for an opportunity, take it

  10. Challenge yourself daily

  11. Maximize your time (Seriously…)

  12. Don’t let people get under your skin

  13. Checklists are your best friend

  14. Take time for you, hit that reset button

  15. Invest in friendships

  16. Travel, travel, travel – the experiences you gather while traveling, especially while traveling alone, are irreplaceable

  17. Be best friends with your parents and your siblings

  18. You are not defined by a number. Don’t let things like your GPA or ACT, GRE, MCAT, LSAT scores get in your head, or the number in your bank account, or on the scale

  19. Be prepared for things like interviews and meetings, do your research

  20. Control the controllables, the rest will happen and you have to learn to roll with the punches

  21. Communicate with others and don’t let them be non-communicative with you- and if they are, there’s no room for them in your life

  22. Know your worth

These 22 things have shaped me into the person I am today.
